Thursday, 9th February 2017

Puchong, 9th February 2017 - In conjunction with Chinese New Year, Empire Hotel team ushered in the Year of the Rooster with 60 old folks of Rumah Victory located at Taman Bukit Kuchai, Puchong. Led by Empire Hotel’s General Manager, Mr Christopher Kok, 20 management staff made the occasion merrier with Yee Sang tossing session and ang pao distribution along with an extensive buffet spread of healthy Chinese New Year themed dishes for the old folks.

Empire Hotel staff prepared sets of Prosperity Yee Sang made by the chefs at Kitchen Art Brasserie to share the excitement of welcoming the Lunar Year with the old folks. A chorus of CNY warm wishes and auspicious greetings were called out as they “lou sang” with the friendly old folks of Rumah Victory. In spirit of the traditional Chinese practice of filial piety, the staff divided themselves into teams and brought platters of noodles, main dishes, fruits and desserts to serve the elderly.

As the elderly folks of Rumah Victory enjoyed a hearty lunch, Empire Hotel team chatted, made jokes and listened intently to their stories to make the old folks feel loved and cared for. After the lunch session, Empire Hotel management staff took turns to distribute ang pao packets to each of the old folks while wishing them good health and longevity. It was a heart-warming moment to witness the excitement and gentle smiles on the elderly folks faces as they happily received their ang pao.

Rumah Victory provides shelter for 60 elderly folks aged 65 to 102, who are cared for by 12 devoted caretakers. To find out more on how you can contribute, visit www.rumahvictory.org.my/
